From Creative Capacity Building and entrepreneurship training to Community-Led Response grants, YSAT South Sudan equips youth and women in Pibor, Duk, and Pajok Payam with the innovation, business, and resilience skills to build sustainable livelihoods and strengthen social cohesion.
All projects below are implemented across Pibor and Duk in Jonglei State, and Pajok Payam in Magwi County, Eastern Equatoria.
Through the BRIDGE Project, YSAT delivered intensive Creative Capacity Building trainings in Duk and Pibor, training 245 participants (159 males and 86 females) who developed 18 new technologies addressing local transport and food preservation challenges. A further five-day CCB training reached 25 youth in Pajok Payam, producing technologies including a brick oven, a beehive, and a metallic oven.
Full Project DetailsYSAT conducted further Creative Capacity Building trainings and technology refinement for 225 participants at its Innovation Centres in Pibor and Duk, alongside two additional CCB trainings reaching 50 participants under DCA and PMCG-funded support. The work culminated in a co-creation showcase in Juba, where prototypes including a wheel cart, oven, shoemaker, and paste maker were presented as part of the BRIDGE Project with MIT D-Lab.
Full Project DetailsYSAT delivered a three-day entrepreneurship training and business idea challenge for CCB graduates in Pajok Payam, awarding start-up grants of up to $1,000 to the winning teams. Under DCA and PMCG-funded support, a further 175 participants received entrepreneurship and business skills training, while a USAID-supported partnership with DAI-RASS trained 150 youth and women (26 males, 124 females) in Basic Business Skills across Pibor and Duk Padiet.
Full Project DetailsBetween August and September 2024, YSAT disbursed grants ranging from $200 to $7,000 to 15 community groups in Pibor, including youth groups, women's groups, and community-based organisations, to support livelihoods and social cohesion. YSAT also supported women-led business groups to develop work plans and budgets, enabling access to small grants. The project directly reached 567 people, with around 2,300 more reached indirectly through advocacy and awareness.
