Gawaar Kedong is a dedicated humanitarian professional and Education Project Officer at the Youth Social Advocacy Team (YSAT) in Uganda. With a deep commitment to social advocacy and community empowerment, Gawaar plays a vital role in managing education operations and expanding learning opportunities for displaced and marginalised populations.

Learning Haven / Library & ECD Coordinator
In Madi-Okollo and Terego Districts, Gawaar supports the implementation of the five-year Bridge YAW Project, focusing on youth skilling, scholarships, and streamlining educational operations. He also serves as Lead for the Creative Learning Haven library project — an initiative providing essential literacy support, book access, and storytelling sessions for children aged 3 to 14, fostering a culture of reading and curiosity within the community.
Gawaar is also managing a specialised Early Childhood Development (ECD) project running from January to December 2026, focusing on strengthening foundational learning and enhancing parent and guardian engagement to ensure a supportive educational environment for the youngest learners in Madi-Okollo District.
Originally from South Sudan and currently living as a refugee in Uganda, Gawaar brings an authentic, lived perspective to his work. This unique background fuels his passion for Education in Emergencies and Early Childhood Development, ensuring that humanitarian interventions remain grounded in the real needs of the people they serve.
